Congratulations to all the Seniors who received scholarships at our Community Awards Ceremony and at GOHS Seniors Awards Night.  Recipients have been instructed to log onto their Dashboards to begin the process of accepting & receiving their scholarship monies which will be deposited directly into their school accounts.  The deadline to claim scholarships is December 31, 2017.


PSGs - please consider giving a scholarship to honor the class of 2018.  Send in the attached Pledge Form to the GOALS office with your payment.  The pledge form serves as your receipt for check requests.  Any questions, please contact Lizza Flynn, GOHS Liaison, lizza.flynn@gmail.com.

GOALS

OUR MISSION

Great Oak Academic Leadership Society (GOALS) is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, public benefit corporation tax ID#20-1127880, formed by supporters of Great Oak High School (GOHS). GOALS mission is to expand and enrich the educational experience of the students of Great Oak High School.

 

GOALS supports Great Oak High School with Parent Support Group Administration and Oversight (PSGs or Booster Clubs):

  • Accounting – GOALS manages all revenue generated by groups and ensures they are not commingled with any other group.  Each group controls their funds and is provided a monthly financial statement with balances and monthly activity reports.

  • Insurance – GOALS provides insurance coverage for all PSGs protecting the groups from property and casualty liability.  The cost to each group is nominal and is assessed annually by GOALS.
  • Tax Filing – GOALS prepares and submits Federal and State tax returns consolidating all revenue and expenses for the groups so as to maintain its nonprofit, tax-free status.
  • Fundraising Support – GOALS reviews all fundraising requests submitted by each group to ensure that the event does not conflict with another PSG or campus event, and solicits the required administration approvals. GOALS also provides support in the form of volunteers or financing as needed to assist in fundraising events.

GOALS Meeting - Thursday, Oct 12, 7pm in WSB room

The next GOALS meeting will take place on Thursday, Oct 12 @ 7pm in the WSB room.  This meeting will feature training workshops for Treasurer, Secretary, Fundraising and Stipends/Transpo.  Please be sure to send representatives to attend this important meeting as they are mandatory to maintain your group's good standing.

 

GOALS is looking to fill the position of President for the 2017-2018 school year.  If you are interested please contact us at gohsgoals@gmail.com.  And volunteers are always needed to help in the GOALS office.

 

Please download and fill out the new PSG Information Form and email it to gohsgoals@gmail.com or drop it off in the GOALS office so that we can maintain a current contact list of coaches, officers and boardmembers.

Help support Great Oak Art, Athletics, Activities & Academics by purchasing a Banner.  Banners will be hung at your choice of athletic venues or on the fence at Deer Hollow Way and Pechanga Parkway, or Deer Hollow Way and Peachtree for one school year.

Banners are on sale for the 2017/2018 school year.  Purchase early to secure a prime spot.
