We are in need of some volunteer IB and AP proctors to help us with testing beginning the week of April 30th.  If you are willing to help with any exams, we would be grateful.   At GOHS, we are giving over 2,800 IB and AP exams to over 1,600 students in three weeks, so volunteer support is vital.

Due to parent volunteers last year we:

  • will provide breakfast and lunch snacks for all testers before all exams this year
  • bought some sophisticated equipment for our AP and IB Physics and Biology courses
  • purchased resources to help strengthen our AP and IB Spanish, Art History, Psychology and arts courses
  • trained as many teachers as needed without having to tell anyone no!

We have a google link to the proctor sign-up documents for AP and IB so you can see the dates and times available.  Anyone can proctor!  Nephews, grandmas, service clubs - just as long as you are over 18 and not in school any more.  You also should not proctor your own student if possible.

IB Proctor Schedule May 2018

AP Proctor Schedule May 2018

Proctoring is really easy.  There is a link below to a powerpoint that outlines everything. There are hired teachers in charge of the proctoring, so it is just passing stuff out and monitoring kids for the most part.

Proctor Presentation

If you can help please email January King at jking@tvusd.k12.ca.us or Deeann Treto at dtreto@tvusd.k12.ca.us.  Give us the name/date of the test your can help with and your cell number so we can send a text reminder the day prior. Your morning or afternoon saves us THOUSANDS of dollars.

Thank you in advance for helping to make GOHS such an amazing school.

Last year 11th and 12th grade students were invited to apply for NHS if they had a 3.6 cumulative GPA.  However, we know that some students may have risen to a 3.6 as a result of the second semester of 10th grade. It is also possible that a new student has entered GOHS as an 11th or 12th grader with a 3.6 cumulative GPA. In this case, you would not have received a letter last year, but should this year.

If you did NOT receive an NHS invitation letter last year and believe you should have, please see Mrs. King in the SPIRIT center or Mrs. Casady in Room 306 immediately. We can confirm if this is the case, give you the letter of invitation, and then you can complete the application.

If you have any questions, please stop by and see us when you can!
